Some Pretty Big Tuna Around

Some Pretty Big Tuna Around

It was another beautiful summer day today with nice temperatures, sunny skies and light winds….and we even had lower humidity today so it was really beautiful.  It sounds like we’ve got high pressure building over the area for the next couple of days so sea conditions should stay nice.  It looks like it gets hot this weekend and with the fishing going off like it is right now it is probably going to be crowded.  If you can go tuna fishing during the week….I would highly recommend it.

We’ve been seeing more big yellowfin tuna showing up over the last couple of days with some fish over 100 pounds.  The crew of the Pumpin’ Hard with Michael and David Burt found one close to 100 today at 95 pounds along with seven other nice fish and a mahi.

Captain Steve Moore called “early dismissal” today and got his crew back to the dock with 16 yellowfin tuna, one bluefin tuna and a white marlin release.

Rhonda’s Osprey with Captain Joe Drosey fished the Baltimore Canyon today and put 17 yellowfin in the box and made it back to the dock by 1:30 this afternoon.

Captain Brian Porter was at the helm of the Boss Hogg today and was able to line the dock with some stud yellowfin and a gaffer mahi upon his return.

John Scheler and his crew boxed 6 big Yellowfin Tunas on the Charter Boat MARLI today with Captain Mark Hoos and mates Michael Butler and Dakota Bittner.

The All In with Captain Scott Stapleford had a big yellowfin on board today with one fish weighing 48 pounds and another weighing 89 pounds.  They also added four gaffer mahi to the box.

Sea bass fishing for Captain Chris Mizurak and the Angler was good today with some quality fish finding their way into coolers.

Captain Mike Giardina has been having some great luck putting anglers on keeper flounder this week.  Here are a few shots from trips over the past couple of days.

Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing headed west to the Choptank River with wife Karen and made quick work of some rockfish that I’m sure will end up on his Pitboss grill.  The duo only needed 5 fish to catch their 4 keepers from 21″ to 27″ on Roy Rigs.
