Red Drum In The Assateague Surf

By Scott Lenox

Red Drum In The Assateague Surf

We pretty much knew today was going to be crap based on the forecast leading up….and it certainly was.  Its gotten really windy and cool, and it has rained intermittently all day.  It was not a good day for fishing.

Last night before the weather moved in David Moore and his buddy Freddie fished the Assateague surf and found that the red drum have arrived.  David and Freddie caught and released fish of 37″, 41″, 49″ and 51″ on cut bunker.  All of the fish were released because they were over the 27″ maximum legal size for reds.

Young Kellan Roberts decided to fish in the tough conditions today with his dad Brian of the HUK Big Fish Classic and at least got to bend the rod when he caught and released this lizard fish.
