I received a report from regular Fish in OC contributor Austin Ensor this evening after a very successful trip on the Choptank river.
I was getting my sea duck rig ready in Cambridge, MD today and got done early so I called my buddies Gregg Whit and Tommy Clark from Salisbury University. They were just getting out of class at 4:30 so I told them to get over to Cambridge and we would try to beat up the rockfish. They arrived at 5:32 PM and we headed out to the spot. I started marking bait near buoy 7 so I stopped short of my intended spot. By 6:10 we had a limit of rockfish from 20″-23″ with three other throwbacks. The fish were all caught trolling spoons in 20 feet of water.
