Today was the nicest day we’ve had for quite some time in and around Ocean City and it was nice to see folks out walking, riding bikes and even doing some fishing. I got to clean my shed today….which sucked, but I did get to live vicariously through my good friend Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing.
Captain Jeff is lucky enough to have a wife that not only says goodbye for the day by asking, “you’re going fishing today, right?”, but also checks in later and asks, “why aren’t you fishing?” Well Captain Jeff took the nudge and headed to the route 90 bridge to check if there were any rockfish around and was rewarded with a resounding YES!
Captain Jeff’s solo trip lasted about four hours and produced 11 rockfish releases up to 25″ and another 4 fish that he lost on the way to the boat. Captain Jeff reported cool water conditions that had the fish sluggish, but they were feeding so he was able to put some in the boat. All of the action took place at the route 90 bridge on Big Bird Cropper’s world famous Roy Rig.

Don’t forget to come see me at the Ocean City Seaside Boat Show starting tomorrow in booth 443. We’ll have new Hooked on OC tee shirts for sale with some great deals.
