We’ve got some cold, potentially nasty weather coming in this weekend so it was nice to have temperatures in the 60s today. The wind picked up late morning, but the sky was clear and the temperatures made for a nice day. Nice days usually equate to anglers on the water this time of year and it’s nice when that equates to fishing reports.
My buddies Wes Pollitt and Nick Denny had the day off from the Morning Star today, but when you’re a fisherman, you’re a fisherman. Wes and Nick took advantage of the nice conditions and tried their luck at the route 90 bridge for some rockfish and were rewarded handsomely. The guys used the world famous Roy Rig and fished the pilings of the bridge to land six rockfish. Like is the case most of the time this time of year none of the fish were the 28″ legal limit, but they had a great time and got some great shots.
My young friend Ayrton Pryor from the Spring Mix II fished the marshes north of the route 90 bridge today with his buddy Jacob Lewis and had a great time with the rockfish too. The duo caught six rockfish as well on jig heads and swim shads and took some cool above and under water pics.
