The Maryland sea bass season has been closed for a month now and anglers have been patiently waiting for it to open back up. Sea bass is one of the tastiest saltwater fish that you can catch in my opinion, so it’s not surprising that most of the local party boats were sold out for today’s reopening to the season.
The Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak and mate Dean Lo had a full boat today and had some really good fishing to reopen the sea bass season. Captain Chris reported good fishing with several sea bass limits around the rail with fish up to 4 pounds. There was even one customer with a limit of flounder as well. That’s some pretty good fishing considering the size limit for sea bass is 12 1/2″ and the creel limit is 15 fish per person.
Tomorrow’s weather looks a little questionable, but the weekend looks really good so I’m hopeful that I’ll be reporting some more good fishing action.
