The weather was fit for fishing again today and there were lots of folks that were excited to get back on the ocean.
Captain Chris Watkowski of The Spring Mix II had a great day for his clients. Captain Chris put his anglers on a pile of mahi and a very nice 61.5 pound yellowfin tuna.
I had the pleasure of fishing on board RoShamBo again with Captain Willie Zimmerman. Some of the Hooked on OC crew was with us and it was nice to get the guys out in front of the camera for an episode of the show. We jumped a white marlin off early and then we headed to the bluefish tile and mahi grounds where we put lots of fish in the boat. Fishing was so good I’m sure we could have caught our limit, but not wanting to be greedy we stopped fishing for both when we felt like we had enough for us and some fillets to share.
The crew of the Boss Hogg fishing with Captain Alex Beane had a great day fishing the canyons today. The crew caught a lineup of nice mahi and also released three white marlin.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star was happy to be on the ocean again today, and though the fishing wasn’t as stellar as yesterday he still had some limits around the rail.
