It was a little breezy inshore today, and a little hot in the sun, but it was another very nice day to be on the water. Offshore fishermen are frustrated with the slow tuna fishing that’s going on right now, but it should pick up over the next couple of weeks as water temps slooowly warm up.
Ocean flounder fishermen are feeling pretty good right now thanks to the early season flounder bite that’s going on. Captain Kane Bounds and his anglers on Fish Bound have had some good flounder fishing over the past week along with some good sea bass fishing, some golden tile fish and some blue line tilefish.
Anglers on the Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak had to work for their fish today, but they managed some nice sea bass and a couple of keeper flounder.
Captain Adam Messer of the private boat High Anxiety had Brian, James and Robert Smack on board today from Annapolis, MD and lucked into this yellowfin tuna in the Washington Canyon.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters put these guys on some good rockfishing at the south jetty on this afternoon’s trip.
Rilee Neumyer caught her first ever striper fishing the south jetty this afternoon with a Roy Rig.
Will Sonneman caught this 25″ black drum using a sand flea and a tog jig at the tip of the south jetty today.
