It was windy pretty much all day today and it was a little chilly again as well. It was still plenty fishable for folks that headed to the bay, and there were still plenty of fish to keep them busy.
Tonight might be a good opportunity to remind readers of a couple of regulations regarding sheepshead and tautog for Maryland waters. There are some smaller sheepshead being caught and some larger tautog being caught so it’s a good idea to know your sizes and creel limits.
Sheepshead
Minimum size 12″ – Bag limit 4 per person
Tautog
Minimum size 16″ – Bag limit currently 2 per person. This will go to 4 per person starting November 1.
Good luck!!
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters knows his limits and today he was checking fish all day. At the end of the trip he had plenty of fish in the cooler with a slot red drum, a keeper sheepshead and a nice pile of pufferfish.
Brian Mills and Rick Gorsuch fished the OC Inlet today and were able to find a couple of those larger tautog. They used crabs and sand fleas to land their limit of four keeper fish over the 16″ size limit and released a bunch of others at 15″ to 15.5″.
Big Bird Cropper, Shuan Flaherty and Mikee had an awesome day of Roy Riggin’ ate the route 50 bridge today. The trio caught some nice bluefish, released some short rockfish and boxed two keeper rockfish of 29” and 30”.
Caught some sheepshead a couple weeks ago at the south jetty…..Check it out!
