Today’s weather was kind of like the fishing, not bad, but not great either. It was overcast for most of the day and the sun even came out this afternoon, but it was foggy this morning and muggy this evening. Like I said, not great, but not bad either.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run reported in this morning with the first fish of the day and it was a nice one. Austin caught this 22″ keeper flounder in this morning’s fog.

Anglers fishing on board Lucky Break had some fun fishing in the fog this morning as well with some good flounder ending up in the net.

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides had a nice day for his anglers with a pile of keeper sea bass from the ocean. Chasin’ Tides also captured a tagged flounder in the bay this afternoon.

Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing showed his clients a good time with some cow nosed and southern rays from the south bay.

Captain Marc also joined Erik Farley, Jimmy Winebrenner and Ryan Haugh on board the Instigator for a tuna adventure that produced a very nice catch. Instigator left Sunset Marina on Saturday evening, traveled WAY SOUTH off the coast of NC, caught nine tunas and made it back for breakfast on Sunday morning.

I got to see Judy Schaible’s flounder prowess first hand on the Angler the other day when she caught a limit of four fish on our Fish in OC fishing trip. Well, today she did it again on board the Ocean Princess with Captain Matthew Moran at the helm. Judy put three very nice fish in the box with all of them being over 20″.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star had an extended trip to the rip today and his folks were rewarded with some nice sea bass and a couple of limits.
