Some Pretty Awesome Fishing and Fish N Paddle Saltwater Slam Results

Hit the vid for the Daily Catch at Sunset Marina!

We had some absolutely beautiful weather in and around Ocean City today!  It was sunny, there was no wind and it was HOT…..and so was the fishing!

Today was the second and final day of the Fish N Paddle Saltwater Slam over at Atlantic Tackle and Shark on the Harbor and there were some really nice fish weighed in.  Congratulations to the winners and to Tournament Director Brian Roberts on an awesome event.

There was some more good tuna fishing for some of the fleet in the Poorman’s Canyon today.  Captain Andrew Dotterweich on the Fish On had another fantastic day with a load of yellowfin tuna.

Captain Chris Watkowski and mates Chase Porter and Ayrton Pryor had a good day of tuna fishing in the Poorman’s with 5 yellowfin for the fish box.

Captain Kane Bounds of the Fish Bound has been putting anglers on some very, very good ocean flounder fishing with limits a daily occurrence for all trips.  There are some quality fish being caught as well with fish up to 7 pounds.

Flounder fishing over ocean structure was good for Blake Gunther and Derek Yobst today.  The guys had a two man limit of flatties with fish over 2o”.

Ryan Neves found a good flounder over ocean structure today that measured out at 25″.

Rich Daiker and Reece Schindler had a great time at the route 50 bridge and put six beautiful flounder in the boat up to 25″ on live bunker.

The Tortuga out of Bahia Marina had a good bite for flounder all day and then had this surprise cobia show up to the party.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a mixed bag of fish today with some nice flounder catches and plenty of sea bass around the rail.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star saw some nice fishing today and even boxed a couple of limits along the way.

Taking advangage of reef builder’s karma on his premier ocean trip, young Mr. Hunter hooked the day’s first sea bass. There’d be many more. His Dad even boxed a nice flounder and limited out on sea bass. Nice way to begin reef fishing, I’d think.
Not that my memory is any good, but it seemed the first calm sunny day this June. Makes you appreciate it all the more.
Had a couple fellows miss the boat; made for a light rail.
Clients won’t be the only one with fresh fish for dinner. We’ll even ‘pay the rent’! (The nice folks who allow us to store tons of reef material on their WOC lot won’t have any money; they sure love fresh fish though! We call it ‘Paying the rent.’)
Had a nice pick of sea bass with some flounder most of the day.. Even boxed a couple limits.
If the weather was always like this there’d be a lot fewer fish in the sea…
Enjoyable when it comes our favor, for sure.
Cheers,
Monty
