It was a windy one out there today, folks! It was sunny and warm, but the wind was cranking out of the north and northeast. So much so that the ocean was closed, but there were some boats that got out on the bay and found some decent fishing.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters put his Deadly Tackle spinning rods to good use and put his clients on some keeper flounder this morning. They also released another 40 or so fish. This afternoon it was some catch and release rockfish and tautog action along with some sheepshead to as big as 8 pounds.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing was able to hit the southern bay today and his shooters were rewarded with a nice haul of southern and cow nosed rays.
