It was a beautiful day in and around Ocean City today with sunny skies, warm fall temps and little to no wind. It was a great day to be on the water. The wind starts to blow again starting Monday, but thankfully we were able to get this weekend of fishing in.
Now that that most of the offshore species have headed to warmer locations what’s left of the offshore fishing fleet is switching to deep dropping on offshore trips for tilefish and swordfish. Captain Willie Zimmerman of RoShamBo holds the current Maryland State Record for swordfish of 393 pounds so you know he knows his stuff. Captain Willie and crew had a great trip with two swordfish and a bunch of nice tilefish this weekend.
The crew of the private boat Chrissy B out of the Ocean City Fishing Center caught this beautiful 231 pound swordfish today. Anglers Dave Bogert, Mike Tur-owski & Rob Griggs weighed the fish on the big scale at OCFC. Photo credit to OCFC.
Captain Chris Mizurak and the crew of the Angler had another solid day of fishing today with lots of sea bass around the rail and some very nice flounder in the mix.
Anglers fishing with Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run had a great 1/2 day afternoon trip today with 38 sea bass, 6 triggerfish and one flounder. The largest sea bass was a personal best at 22″ and 4 pounds.

Kevin Stoltzfus of Salty Marine Electronics fished with his wife Jen and kids Lena and Liam and caught 24 rockfish in just two hours today at Route 54. They kept one 30” keeper for the cooler.
