We had another nice weather day in Ocean City today despite some light rain showers in the middle of the day. This morning was beautiful with sunshine and light winds and once the rain showers passed, this afternoon was nice as well.
I got a submission today from Johh Abbott with a photo of some really nice stripers that he and some fellow anglers caught while surf fishing the Virginia surf yesterday. John, Kenton and Olivia Moyer, Jeff Oshaben, Ethan Peterson, Chris Bradley, Jonathan Britton and Devin Zupan caught their limit of nice stripers from 36″ to 43″ on peeler crabs. Way to go crew!
The Assateague Island Over Sand Vehicle (OSV) zone has opened back up after being closed for a while so anglers will be heading down there to try their luck with some of these stripers as well.
Ayrton Pryor was at it again this afternoon and caught some nice bluefish behind his house in the bay behind Keenwik on the Bay. Ayrton fished from his kayak again with top water lures and bucktails and landed six nice bluefish. Four fish were released and he kept two fish of 8 and 12 pounds.
