We had an absolutely beautiful day today in Ocean City! Flat calm seas, warm temperatures and the rockfish were snapping again so it was a good day on the water. There were a few more boats out there to contend with today thanks to the nice weather and the fact that it was a Saturday, but it didn’t seem to effect the fish much.
My photographer buddy Nick Denny fished on board the Twin Spin today with Captain Doug Dashiell and Chris Dashiell and landed one beautiful rockfish. Chris was the lucky angler on the rod when the 47″, 38.4 pounder took a mojo rig just offshore of the MD/DE line.
There were also several fish weighed on day 8 of the 3rd Annual Ocean City Marlin Club Rockfish Tournament and a couple of bruisers jumped into the money. As good as this tournament has been you would think that there were more than 14 boats fishing it. I bet since the fish have shown up like they have that some boats are wishing they had gotten in. Here’s what it looks like with eight days down and one to go.
