Stripers Snapping in the Back Bay

Stripers Snapping in the Back Bay

Spring is finally starting to spring and even though we’ve had to deal with some cold temps and some wind over the past few days, things will be ramping up all the time.  The first flounder of the season in Ocean City’s back bays has eluded early season anglers, but we are starting to see some tautog and some striped bass showing up on warmer days when folks can get out on the water.

Last night, Dan Erb and Brian Reynolds fished the Route 90 bridge and found an absolutely insane striped bass bite on soft plastics.  The guys caught and released an even 100 stripers with most fish landing in the 20″ to 26″ range.  Dan did land this beautiful fish that landed in the slot at just under 31″ that went in the cooler.  He also took a pic of the stomach contents of his keeper and found that the fish was eating large bunker before he ate the wrong swim bait.
