Today felt more like late September or October than it did July. It was cool, windy and downright nasty on the water. The ocean was closed for business all day and boats that fished the bay didn’t stay long. The wind is going to lay down some and the sun is supposed to shine more tomorrow, but the bad news is there’s a storm abrewin’ in the Atlantic that might mess us up for next week.
When I got this photo from Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service this morning I was surprised that he was even on the water. I was more surprised when I got the next photo of a keeper flounder that he had put his lucky angler on. I guess when you’re good, you’re good. Captain John and the inshore guys are doing awesome with flounder and other inshore species lately and have plenty of availability next week. You can check them out at FishinOC.com/inshorecharters

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters beat the weather and fished last night with Paul Raddford after he picked up the evening trip. The guys fished in flat calm seas and hooked into some sharks right away releasing four sand tiger sharks. One of the sharks was previously tagged and Captain Chase will get us some info on it once it becomes available.
