Happy President’s Day!
We’ve finally gotten some warmer weather over the past couple of days and it looks like we’ll have a decent week to thaw out. We’ve had a tough winter so far with snow, wind and really, really cold temperatures, but we’ve still seen some good fishing when boats are able to get out on the ocean. There are some nice tautog being caught out of Ocean City over ocean structure, and sea bass fishing out of Virginia is very, very good with some big fish ending up in coolers.
Captain Kane Bounds of the Fish Bound has had some great fishing for his groups when the weather cooperates. Anglers have had limits of good sea bass up to 5 pounds, a couple of flounder and several tautog to as big as 13 pounds.
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters is still hitting the tautog grounds and the fishing has still been good. Anglers have had some nice fish to as big as 18.5 pounds.
Captain Victor Bunting and the crew of the Ocean Princess has had some good sea bass fishing during Virginia’s February season with lots of nice fish coming over the rail.
