Tautog In A Hard West Wind

Tautog In A Hard West Wind

It was a WINDY one out there today folks!  Winds out of the west today from 15 to over 30 mph had the ocean closed once again and made things interesting on the bay.  Last nights rain and wind had back bay waters dirty too so the few boats that tried it had some really tough conditions.

One of the boats that tried it was the Lucky Break with Captain Jason Mumford with mate Wyatt as they had me and two guests on board for a new episode of Hooked on OC.  Josh Greene of Eastern Title and Settlement and Jeremy Kohr of Kohr’s Outdoors joined me on board for a couple of hours of tautog fishing in some tough conditions.  The wind was howling out of the west and the tide was ripping out, but Captain Jason still put us on the fish.  We released over 40 fish and also put 5 keepers in the box.  It was a great time and should make for a great episode of the show in the next few weeks!

Todd Hellams and Kyle Murray fished the OC inlet yesterday and had some fun catching and releasing some short tautog.
