It’s been a hot minute since anyone has been fishing in the ocean….and it’s going to be a few more before someone does. Today was a very decent day with light winds, sunny skies and temps in the 60s, but tomorrow that changes big time. We are supposed to get some major winds with a considerable amount of flooding along the coast so if you have a boat in the water make sure she’s tied up tight or put her on the trailer if you can. If it gets hairy I’ll do some weather updates on our Facebook page so stay tuned there.
There hasn’t been much going on lately thanks to the weather, but the water in the back bays is actually pretty clean so fishing could be good if it stays that way. Fishing down at the Oceanic Pier in downtown Ocean City should pick up right where it’s left off with good action for flounder and tautog during the day and bluefish and shad at night.
John Curreri got out on his Reel Lucky today and was real lucky with the flounder putting two keepers in the box on a short trip.
Big Bird Cropper and Shawn Flaherty got out to sling some Roy Rigs in today’s open weather window and had much success. The guys had short rock and flounder along with some puppy red drum and a speckled trout.
