Several of the boats in the Fish in OC fleet will come out of the water during the winter, but other boats in the fleet will travel during the offseason. The boats that have come out of the water are either making final preparations to go back in, or they are already back in and are preparing the boat for the summer fishing season. Regardless of whether they only fish out of Ocean City, or they travel to other locations….they all catch fish.
The Marli with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens is a Fish in OC partner that travels during the offseason. Captain Mark keeps the Marli in Solomons, MD for the spring trophy rockfish season during the months of April and May and is a rockfish catching machine. Today, Adam Pattisall and his crew braved the elements and caught their limit of nice rockfish and released a few others on the Marli out of Solomons. The fish were all caught in the mouth of the Patuxent River on tandem parachute rigs.
Another Fish in OC partner that travels during the offseason is Rhonda’s Osprey with Captain Joe Drosey. Captain Joe makes his home during the winter months in Singer Island, FL and fishes just about every day. Captain Joe is an accomplished and respected captain in Ocean City and it’s the same in Singer Island. This offseason Captain Joe has been putting customers on mahi, amberjack, tuna and loads of sailfish.
Captain Luke Blume is running a new rig this year and we welcome him back to the Fish in OC fleet on the 57′ Dean Johnson “C-Boys”. Captain Luke will be running the C-Boys out of Sunset Marina in West Ocean City and is currently fishing out of Boat Harbour in Abaco, Bahamas. C-Boys has had a terrific start to their fishing adventure with fishing that you might see out of Ocean City. Captain Luke has put the C-Boys on barracuda, mahi, some nice 60+ pound yellowfin tuna and even a white marlin.
