It certainly wasn’t the best weather day around OC today, but it wasn’t quite as bad as some of the weather we’ve dealt with lately. Inshore the wind wasn’t too bad and the showers that did fall were very scattered so it was doable to get in a little fishing. We are looking at some wind tonight and tomorrow as the remnants of hurricane Florence scoot by, but it looks to lay down starting tomorrow night and the rest of the week looks very nice.
Captain Joe Drosey of Rhonda’s Osprey out of Sunset Marina reported in that “they were hungry” on his first day back to the canyons. Captain Joe put his crew on three white marlin releases and got this cool shot in the meantime.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler was happy to get back out to the ocean today after quite a few days off and was even happier to see good fishing. Captain Chris had flounder, triggerfish, bluefish and a boat limit of sea bass up to 4 pounds.

Kristy Martin from Albrightsville, PA won the fish pool on board the Tortuga with Captain Drew Zerbe today with this 18 1/2″, 2 pound, 10 ounce flounder caught on a shiner and squid combo. Mate Serge Gardner was the handy net man.
