I just finished up day 6 at the Great American Outdoor Show and it was another good day at the show. Thank you to everyone that’s stopped by and picked up the 2024 Fish in OC mag, bought rigs and shirts or just talked fishing. We appreciate it!
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star was able to get out on a calm sea today and his folks were rewarded with some good tog fishing.
Gave one day’s notice on a trip announcement. Wasn’t sure how the swell would play. Doable.. Handful of clients signed on. Peyton and Jack, crew on the Big Mohawk in Belmar (& out on busman’s holiday) dropped blocks at Uncle Murphy’s Reef. We pressed on.
Swell was plenty real, up to 7 feet; didn’t affect the bite nearly like the current change to NE did today.
Best of the bite was right out of the gate..
