Man, this weather has sucked! I’m listening to rain right now, we had snow yesterday and this weekend looks like there may be more rain in the forecast. Throw in some wind and very cold temperatures over the past several weeks and this winter has been downright terrible. At last week’s Great American Outdoor Show I had several people ask, “What’s going on down in OC right now?” My answer was, “there are a few stripers in the back bay, and there are still a few boats fishing for tautog, other than that, not much.” I for one can’t wait until it warms up.
Captain Kane Bounds of the Fish Bound had to take some “crazy long boat rides” over the past several weeks to find good tautog fishing for his crews, but those boat rides panned out nicely. Captain Kane put his anglers on some beautiful fish with several reaching into double digits, but now it’s gotten so cold that he is pulling the plug until March to do some maintenance. Here are some of the beauties from his last trips.
