I got to shoot some segments for Hooked on OC today with producer Dave Messick, John and Johnny Malinowski from Ocean Pines Golf and Dan, Jamie, Mal and Leia from Crabs to Go and the weather could not have been better. There was a little shore breeze this afternoon, but from what I understand it was nice off the beach.
We are experiencing some really good tuna fishing right now with boats catching a really nice class of yellowfins from 30-60 pounds with some fish over 100. Sam Conners and his crew whacked 11 yellowfin tuna and a nice gaffer mahi today on the charter boat MARLI with Captain Mark Hoos and mates Michael Butler and Chase Neiderer.
Captain Corey Kennington put the crew of Boss Hogg on some good fishing today putting 12 yellowfin and 5 nice mahi in the box.
Rhonda’s Osprey with Captain Joe Drosey had three generations of fishermen on today that ended up smiling after a couple of tuna and a nice gaffer mahi.
Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service had a nice day today putting four keeper flounder in the boat overall. Yesterday Captain John had some good flounder fishing as well and a bonus sheepshead from the inlet.
Bear down at the Oceanic Pier sent these photos in today of Brett from Denton who had a nice day on the north sea wall catching a keeper sheepshead, a nice triggerfish and a beautiful rockfish.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing hasn’t slept this month, but he has put some shooters on some really nice action. Last night it was a bunch of gars for his crew and during the day it was some nice cow nosed rays.
I played in a local golf tournament today and ran into my good friend David Wells who just couldn’t resist the chance to throw a line in while we were waiting to tee off. David caught a pitifully small white perch and I followed up with a nice slab crappie. Photo credit Todd Martinek.
