We’ve got some pretty wicked thunderstorms rolling through the area right now, but before that it was a pretty pleasant day, all be it HOT! It is August so that’s something we should expect, but I certainly wouldn’t mind a break in the storm activity. Hopefully it doesn’t dirty up the bay too bad…I got a fishing trip tomorrow.
Offshore fishing isn’t awesome right now, but there are some fish to be had. Captain Chris Watkwoski, mate Chase Porter and the crew of the Spring Mix II had a great day with two white marlin releases and seven real nice yellowfin tuna.
Captain Alex Beane and his crew aboard Boss Hogg had a nice day offshore with a white marlin release and a pile of mahi.
Captain Mike Burt and his crew on Pumpin’ Hard found some mahi and some blueline tilefish on today’s trip.
The crew of OC Girl had a great day with some very nice blueline tilefish.
Yesterday, Justin Staats and his crew had a good day of practice for the upcoming Flounder Pounder. The guys used Deadly Tackle Squidly rigs to land some very nice flounder up to 23″. The “tax man” took a couple and a half.
Caleb Powell and Kellan McAleer used Deadly Tackle Deadly Double in chartreuse with Gulp to land five keeper flounder.
Jane Seseri fished the north jetty wall and landed this 10 pound sheepshead.
Aiden and Ed Rice shot this big southern ray in the south bay while fishing with Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing.
