We still had a little breeze to contend with today, but it was’t too bad and is forecast to drop out tonight leaving us with really nice weather for the rest of the week. Temperatures tonight are pretty perfect in my book at just about 58 degrees and with highs supposed to be in the 70s and 80s for the next several days we should see some pretty good fishing.
Today was one of those great tuna trolling days where some boats were able to catch their three “under” bluefin, release several more fish and then catch and box several yellowfin tuna. The MARLI with Captain Mark Hoos had Larry Grabenstein and his crew aboard today and absolutely crushed the tuna. The crew released 17 “under” bluefin after they boxed three and caught an additional nine yellowfin tuna for a total of 12 tunas in the box. That’s a great day of tuna fishing!
The Restless Lady II out of the Talbot Street Pier had a great day of tuna fishing as well when they put 12 nice tunas in the box.
Captain Victor Bunting of the party boat Ocean Princess reported a good day of bottom fishing today. Captain Victor said they had a great day with the sea bass and also put the first keeper flounder of the season in the box.
It seems the flounder were snapping pretty good today even though it was a little windy. Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service had a good day putting some keepers in the boat when he used minnows around Castaways Campground in the south bay.
The Tortuga with Captain Drew Zerbe at the helm had a good day of floundering in the bay today. Over the past few days Captain Drew has put several anglers on some nice keeper flounder.
There are some nice bluefish being caught in the surf on the right tide lately. Fenwick Tackle got this shot of Robert Wiglesworth who caught this 25 in chopper using a red and white mullet rig off Fenwick Island.
C.L. Marshall sent me an email with a pic of a beautiful sheepshead last night with the caption….”Had a good day on the sheepshead with Jim Emche and Josh Barfield in the Pocomoke Sound…Here’s a pic of Josh’s 10 pound 6 oz citation winner.”
