So far fishing weather this September is going WAY better than last September! Last year at this point we may have fished three of four days because of the weather, but this year we’ve had lots of fishable days. Today was another one with a little rain this morning, but with otherwise beautiful conditions.
There have been a large number of wahoo being caught offshore the past few days and today was no different. Wahoo will usually move into the canyons in good numbers sometime in August depending on water temperatures and September can sometimes be really good. It was really good for Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens on board the Marli today as they put their crew of two guys on three mahi and five……yes five nice wahoo.
Captain Joe Drosey of Rhonda’s Osprey had a good day of trolling in the Baltimore Canyon today putting his crew on two mahi, a 65 pound yellowfin tuna, a 75 pound wahoo and a white marlin release.
The Wrecker with Captain Jeremy Blunt had a good day of white marlin fishing today. Captain Jeremy and mate Bobby Layton put their crew on five out of seven white marlin bites and a 50 pound wahoo.
Ocean bottom fishing was good once again today with Captain Chris Mizurak and the anglers on the Angler. The crew had good fishing for sea bass, flounder and triggerfish.
Captain John Bunting of the Judith M had a nice day with the sea bass today with several keeper fish coming over the rail.
Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service fished the Ocean City inlet this morning and put his angler on a keeper triggerfish and a nice sized sheepshead.
Bear at the Oceanic Pier sent this photo of Howard who caught this big triggerfish from the sea wall on the north side of the inlet.
