I got a Facebook submission from Rob Wolhar with a really interesting report. Rob and some friends have started a group called Delaware Jet Ski Fishing and are making some really remarkable catches….from jet skis. These guys were the first to get HMS permits for jet skis in Delaware and it has really paid off. Rob and three other members of DJSF took their jet skis out to Massey’s Canyon this week and chunked and trolled for tuna. They actually had some luck, and Jack Dillon caught a white marlin on a trolled ballyhoo. Incredible!
It started out with just two guys fishing the bay’s, but now it’s about 15 guys and 400 followers on the group’s Facebook page. They have extra bilge pumps and safety gear, one of the guys is a mechanic, and on this week’s trip there was a doctor along as well. The group takes Epirbs, GPS, fish finders, and they all have cooler racks that hold extra gas. It sounds like they are being safe and having a great time doing something exciting.
