We’ve had some unseasonably cool temperatures creep into the area over the past day or so making anglers have to bundle up if they head out to the water. It was pretty windy again this morning, but it laid out nicely by late this afternoon. It looks like we might get even lighter winds tomorrow and Wednesday which would be a really nice change over the past week. There are still some big bluefish in the area, flounder fishing is still good in clean water and we’re starting to see some more keeper sized rockfish from the surf and from around the jetties.
David Moore caught and released this really nice 39″ rockfish from the Assateague surf and submitted the photo through our Facebook page. Pretty work David!
Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing was moving the boat this afternoon and decided to make a few casts at the route 90 bridge. Captain Jeff used Big Bird’s Roy Rig to hook four small rockfish and lost one Roy Rig body to a hungry bluefish.
Chris Tilghman of Ocean City submitted this photo of a couple of nice flounder that he caught in the bay over the weekend. I thought it was pretty windy over the weekend, but Chris said “what wind?”
