It was an absolutely beautiful day out there today. So beautiful that I went fishing this morning and played golf this afternoon. It was an awesome day! This morning I had the honor of fishing on board the Lucky Break with Captain Jason Mumford and mate Wyatt and I was joined by my good buddy Officer Mike Dzurnak of the OCPD and we had a terrific morning filming a new episode of Hooked on OC. We had nine keeper flounder and a bunch of throwbacks and were back before lunch! The action took place in the south bay and the fish were caught on a combination of Deadly Doubles and jig head rigs with Gulp and minnows. Many thanks to Captain Jason and Wyatt for the hospitality and awesome fishing!
Captain Jason had another trip this afternoon where he showed his single angler a good time and a limit of tautog.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters had an awesome day of fishing for his anglers today as well. Captain Dave showed his group 12 keeper flounder up to 20″ in the south bay and also had two keeper tautog. Captain Dave mentioned his Deadly Tackle spinning rods helped his anglers feel and hook fish on the light bite. Thanks Dave!
Lamont Hilbert caught this keeper flounder in the bay behind Assateague Island on his boat Sea Bum.
Ted and Jane Cavey fished the bay off of Frontier Town and had three flounder with one nice keeper going in the box.
Mike was fishing with Joe Snyder around the Route 50 bridge using a spec rig with 5″ Gulp when he caught and released this 27″ striper.
Benjamin Bosley and his uncle had three keeper flounder of 16”, 18.5” and 19” all on Deadly Doubles.
