Today was another awesome day of Tuna fishing for the Fish in OC charter fleet! The Bluefins are on the inshore lumps like the Hambone and Hot Dog with some Yellowfins mixed in, and there are still Yellowfins inshore of the Rock Pile and around 30 fathoms at the Tea Cup. The usual baits of Ballyhoo and spreader bars are still the baits of choice. With Bluefin and Yellowfin so readily available at some of the more popular spots for our boats, it’s a good time to book a charter, but a bad time to be a tuna!
The Boss Hogg out of Sunset Marina reported a nice stringer of Yellowfin from the Hot Dog.
Captain Rob Skillman on the Moore Bills out of the Ocean City Fishing Center had an awesome day as well fishing at the Tea Cup. Captain Rob put his crew on 9 Yellowfin and a real nice Bluefin.
Captain Joe Drosey on board Rhonda’s Osprey out of Sunset Marina had a terrific day catching three Yellowfin, two Bluefin and two Dolphin.
Inshore the Flounder fishing continues to be Red Hot! Capain John Prather on the Ocean City Guide Service has been catching loads of throwback Flounder on most every trip and there are several 16″+ keepers to be had as well! Most of the flatties are being caught on the white Gulp 4″ Swimming Mullet so get on over to your local tackle shop and pick some up. It works as good, if not better than live bait sometimes.
Captain John also had another very successful bow fishing trip this afternoon putting this lucky family on some nice Stingrays. Yes, you can, and they did eat these rays….and it’s an awesome time!
