Last night if someone told me I would be doing a fishing report this evening I would have told them they were crazy…..and yet here we are. This morning when I got a text from Big Bird Cropper asking if I was fishing the Flounder Pounder I responded with a sarcastic, “Yeah, I’m drifting the east channel right now.” Little did I know, Bird was serious. When my buddy Shawn Harman of Bahia Marina called just a little while later to tell me that not only was the Flounder Pounder on, but it had 12 boats fishing with a total of 42 anglers I was shocked. Shocked in a good way because I helped put the Flounder Pounder together back in the day when anglers had to fish it from Bahia’s yellow skiffs that were affectionately referred to as “Blasters”. I’ve even won the event a time or two in my fishing career too so I was glad to see it go off today and more glad to see some fish caught and some good money paid out. How bout this Flounder Pounder blast from the past.
