The yellowfin tuna in the Baltimore canyon were once again the headline for the offshore fishing on this Memorial Day Monday.
The bite was on once again for anglers trolling ballyhoo and spreader bars.
The Boss Hogg out of Sunset Marina put a hurtin’ on em today! The crew was able to box 17 yellowfin in 64 degree water in 90 fathoms of the Baltimore.
The crew on the Materix II sent me a report from their overnight trip this weekend and the fishing was nothing short of AweSOmE!
Captain Austin Ensor put his crew on some terrific action that included releasing 5 makos and 2 blue sharks, killing this 105 pounder, and going 7 for 9 bites with the yellowfin with 3 throwbacks for good measure.
Austin also caught a cool picture at night of one of his mako releases taking a bite out of their dead mako while it was hanging beside the boat……Gnarly!
On the Judith M party boat, Captain Don Hetherington reports a good sea bass bite with several ling cod and some tautog mixed in. Folks are having a blast!
Captain Monty Hawkins on the party boat Morning Star is hot on the trail of sea bass and ling cod, you can see his fishing report here http://morningstarfishing.com/report.htm
