Man did I get excited this afternoon!! I’m packing up for the Saltwater Fishing Expo in Edison, NJ this weekend and the texts started flying in with a photo of the first flounder of the season caught on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Captain Matt Abell of Sea Hawk Sports Center got the word out via Facebook that Captain Alan and mate Vinny captured this nice flounder behind the Virginia barrier islands this afternoon. The fish was 24″ and just over 5 pounds and was caught on a Sea Hawk flounder rig. That means the first flounder of the Ocean City season is just a few weeks away. This report will get folks…..like me…..excited to get out on the bay in search of one of the Eastern Shore’s most prized fish. Congratulations to Captain Alan and Vinny on the catch! Going in Lake Crisco I’m certain.
