The sun was shining and temperatures across the area were really comfortable today, but it was windy! I’m pretty certain that no boats left the inlet and fishing was tough for anglers that fished the bay. There were whitecaps in the open bay and the water was really dirty thanks to the runoff from the heavy rains so you really had to know what you were doing to even think about catching a flounder.
One guy that has fished the bay for a long time and definitely knows what he’s doing is Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters. Captain Jason is an Ocean City native and his fished these waters since he was a kid so he knows the right spots to go in just about all conditions. Today’s conditions were definitely tough, but Captain Jason still put his anglers on some action including two keeper flounder.
Nick Denny of the Ocean City Fishing Community lucked into a couple of flounder today in the tough conditions as well. Nick used bucktail tipped with Gulp in just a few feet of water to get the job done.
Conditions in the bay were tough for bowfishing today too, but Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing got it done. He put his shooters on some great action for cow nosed and southern rays in the south bay.
