It was another nice one today in and around Ocean City and by this afternoon it was downright hot. I had a chance to do some fishing myself today for a new episode of Hooked on OC and had a great time with Lloyd Whitehead of Harborside Bar & Grill. Lloyd and I fished with Captain Brett Gladfelter on his Just Got Reel out of Indian River, DE and Brett put us on some quality fish. We put a dozen big sea bass in the cooler several of which I’m sure were over 3 pounds. It was a bunch of fun and should make for a great episode of the show.
There were some other anglers out on the ocean getting in their sea bass fix and fishing seemed to be pretty good. Dutch Workman fished with Captain Monty Hawkins on board the Morning Star today and had some hefty sea bass for the cooler. It was a great day to be on a “gently rolling 8 second interview sea” today.
Bear down at the Oceanic Pier had some more bluefish action today on the outgoing tide. Aaron Jones of Salisbury, MD stopped by the pier today and landed this BIG bluefish on a live minnow. Thank you for your service Mr. Jones!
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing was out on the bay today looking for clean water and he must have found at least a little bit. He also found this southern ray with a good shot.
Big Bird Cropper and John Wittmyer of Crabs to Go had “all the rockfish you could want” and one 28″ bluefish.
