Sea conditions have allowed for the fleet to head out to the canyons as the charter season kicks into high gear. Today anglers were greeted by low flying jets and awesome airplanes and helicopters as the Ocean City Airshow starts.
Captain Rob Skillman on Shane Moore’s Moore Bills out of the Ocean City Fishing Center had an overnight trip and boy did they put it to them! The Moore Bills returned this afternoon with 3 Bigeye tuna, 183, 194 and 196 pounds, six 40-50 pound Yellowfin tuna and a couple of Dolphin. Captain Rob found 69-71 degree water in 200 fathoms of the Wilmington canyon and caught these fish on Ballyhoo and spreader bars.
Captain Dave Black on the My Cin out of Sunset Marina fished in 50 fathoms of the Baltimore canyon and put his crew on 3 nice Yellowfin tuna and some gaffer size Dolphin.
Captain Steve Selander and mate Chris Watkowski on the Spring Mix II out of the Ocean City Fishing Center put some lucky anglers on the action today. Spring Mix II fished the Baltimore canyon and released one White Marlin, boxed 3 Yellowfin tuna up to 50 pounds and had gaffer Dolphin up to 21 pounds.
Spring Mix II is looking for 2 anglers for a make up trip on Monday. Email [email protected] or call 410-430-1016 if you’d like to get on board.
Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens on the charter boat Marli out of Sunset Marina put Bob Coughlin and crew on 5 nice Yellowfin and a gaffer Dolphin in the Baltimore canyon…
and yesterday the Marli put angler Bob Arndt on an estimated 500 pound Blue Marlin that was the first Blue Marlin release of the season for the Ocean City Marlin Club. Congratulations!
The boys on the Boss Hogg also had a stellar day in the Baltimore canyon. The crew had 6 nice Yellowfin and a gaffer size Dolphin.
And our friend Austin Ensor continues his offshore success. Today he teamed up with Captain Dave Bradley on the Sea Prowler and put a muggfest on the gaffer Dolphin. Austin, Josh Ensor and Robert Rambo were busy anglers for the day. The crew also had three nice Yellowfin tuna.
