Ocean City’s First Kingfish?

By Scott Lenox

Ocean City’s First Kingfish?

I got an email submission from Joseph Lenzi with a picture of what I’m pretty sure is the first kingfish caught out of Ocean City this year.  Joseph was surf fishing on 123rd street with small striper rigs using bloodworm for bait and he caught and released about 20 small rockfish and this decent sized kingfish.

Kingfish, also known as whiting are pretty common in Ocean City’s surf and back bays and are very good table fare.  This is a little early to see one caught in our area, but Joseph will take it.  Thanks for the submission!

If you’d like your catch considered for the Daily Angle you can email a photo and report like Joseph did to [email protected].
