It certainly feels like fall out there now with cool temps, wind and some rain rolling through the area. They say that stripers will bite pretty good in OC when the wind is blowing northeast, and if that’s the case, they’ll be biting really, really, REALLY well on Sunday and Monday. We’re looking at a strong nor’Easter to start Saturday night into Sunday and the winds could gust over 50 MPH. Not sure how many folks will be fishing in that.
The wind blew a little bit today, but not enough to keep folks from fishing the Route 50 bridge. Shawn “Nature Boy” Flaherty hit the bridge today and did really well with the rockfish.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run had a nice morning for his anglers today putting them on some keeper tautog and sheepshead while fishing the south jetty.
