Sheepshead Are Snappin’

Sheepshead Are Snappin’

September has been a tough month for fishing interests around Ocean City thanks to Mother Nature.  Northeast blows, hurricanes and more wind the past few days have really had things stirred up.  The water in the back bays has been pretty dirty with all of the rain that we’ve had, and it hasn’t cleaned up very quickly because the ocean has been dirty close to the beach too.  Things look to be laying down over the next few days and some boats were able to get out today.

Captain Jeremy Blunt of the Wrecker was able to steer the boat east this morning in light traffic and he found the mahi once again out in the canyon.  Wrecker put a nice catch of the tasty “green hornets” on the dock at the Ocean City Fishing Center this afternoon.

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters was able to get out to the jetty this afternoon and although conditions were rough he was able to put G on a nice 10 pound sheepshead.

Flounder fishing hasn’t been great with the dirty bay water, but Bob Haltmeier of the Oceanic Pier did send me this photo of a couple of keepers caught from the pier.

Mark Boyer and his wife Janet from Harrisburg, PA used shrimp and worms to catch 22 blowfish from the pier at Frontier Town Campground.

Our Fish in OC decals are in and look really good.  They are on the website now for $4 with free shipping.
