Some Kind of Nice Out There Today

tomorrow looks like another blow day in the ocean, but today it was absolutely beautiful out there, and there were lots of fish caught.

Angler‘s fishing on board the Miss Kathleen had a great day with lots of keeper Seabass, a few keeper Flounder and some catching release tautog action.

Captain Dave Caffrey of On The Run charters at a nice day for his party with a boat limit of Seabass.

angler‘s fishing aboard OC Guide Service with Captain Kyle Pelino had a great day with some keeper Flounder and some keeper Seabass.

Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break charters fished the back bay today and had great success with several keeper Flounder and a 29 inch slot rockfish.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported a slow start to today but eventually things picked up and they put a bunch of keeper Seabass and some keeper Flounder in the boat.

Kai Johnston was fishing with his dad, Chef Mikey Johnston of the Ocean City marlin club when he landed this 19 inch keeper Flounder in the Thorofare.

Captain Will from Local Hooker Fishing Charters had a great day for his anglers, putting them on Flounder, bluefish and some catching release tautog action.

Angler’s fishing on board the Morning Star with Catherine Monty Hawkins had a great day with some big knothead Seabass and some flounder.

Some kind of nice off there today. After Greg sent a small terracotta unit by the stern rail we came about for a sample drop. Was what I expected and we were soon out of there.
That reef used to hold thousands of fat and happy sea bass that spawned all summer long. It was no different than the entire reef site and dozens more inshore reefs – all were loaded with immense populations going into the 2000s.
There may be dozens at that reef now. Certainly not hundreds.
And, boy did that trigger some thinking.
Fishing near the bow, Mark reached double digits at 11:30 – No one without dinner – he was alone with a limit at days end. Jim bagged the pool fish right at the bell.
Left a half hour early – got in an hour and a half late. Turned a lot of ocean inside out looking for cbass. Worked.
