8.8 Pound Doormat Flounder

8.8 Pound Doormat Flounder

I don’t usually do two fishing reports in the same day, but this catch is awesome!  My buddy Austin Ensor just sent me some photos and a report of this 27″, 8.8 pound flounder that his brother Mark captured on a sandbar while clamming and watching the Ocean City Airshow.  It seems that Mark, Austin and crew were catching some clams when Mark saw the big “flattie” swim by and decided to chase him down.  With Ninja-like stealth and quickness, Mark flanked the flounder and with a swift, steady strike, gigged the doormat with his clam rake.  Austin recalls the moment saying, “he is a savage!”
